Make a note of the IP address and Default gateway of each of your
networked devices (PC's, game systems, etc) with the cable modem
disconnected (every device can see the other devices), and then
compare those addresses/gateways with what you see when the cable
modem is connected (devices cannot see each other). I think you'll
find that your devices have public IP's versus private IP's, and if
so, it's a good bet that you've connected your router to the cable
modem improperly. Be sure the router's WAN port is connected to the
cable modem. You might have connected one of the router's LAN ports to
the modem by mistake.
