Range Problem

I am using my laptop thru Linksys Router BEFW1154 with my WPC11 ver4
Notebook Adapter.

I had to send in my laptop for an LCD repair, and when it came back, my
range for my laptop ceased from livingroom to bedroom (less than 50').

Now before I sent it in for repair, I could even go outside and still
connect to the Web at 75'

Unless I stay in a straight line with my router, I can't pick up my signal,
therefore, I am locked in to staying in the livingroom with my wireless
laptop.

Question is, how do I redo the settings somewhrere, to pickup that lost
range I once had? Apparently, somebody changed something somewhere?

Could someone have changed the wifi bandwidth to 11MB instead of "auto" i.e.
instead of dropping to 1MB to cover large distances, it's trying to use
11MB all the time?

How do I check this, and make it right?

That's a BEFW11S4. There are 4 versions of this router, but that has
nothing to do with the problem. Just a reminder to be specific.

Chuckle... Can I guess? The antenna for your unspecified model
laptop is in the LCD display section. There's a tiny coax cable and a
flimsy coax connector that goes to the wireless card. Find the
wireless card and plug in the connect. My guess is that it's dangling
thanks to the LCD display section repair. If you can't locate the
card or don't know how to open the case, supply the EXACT model number
and there are probably disassembly instructions somewhere on the web.

Also, if you have a mini-PCI card for wireless, there may be two
connectors. The one you want is the one furthest away from the card
edge.
