Called to cancel our qwest long distance the other day (since they were
going to start adding $2/month on the off chance you might make an
in-state long distance call) and took the occasion to query about the
intro deals they show on the web for dsl which were cheaper than what I
was paying. Short story - they were able to switch me to the cheaper rate
and the switchover was completed today - not even an interruption in
service.

Did you expect qwest to call you and tell you hey we have lower prices
than you are paying now, want us to give them to you? There is no
reason that their should be a interruption in your service because they
have given you a cheaper pricing plan.

I expected a bit of a ruckus and the explanation that the plan is 'for new
customers only' - since that's what the web page says; I'm happy it was
that easy. You never know about service interruptions, because when you
change plans they 'deactivate' the old one and 'activate' the new one.
