Quick Question on Networking via VPN

I have a remote network that is not part of our network. It is connected to
our network via a Hardware VPN and a Windows Trust. I have not have good
luck with remote sites used this way and I would like to join the remote
network to our network.

Question. If we join the remote network to our network, will it work well
over a VPN and a standard DSL connection? I have several other sites
connected via a T1 and they work fine but I wasn't certain what kind of
bandwidth was needed between sites to have a successful connection between
sites.

Any other comments or suggestions?

Hi

We are currently working with a 1 MBit line... it's not a problem. The only
think that's not a good idea is to build up multiple domains in the same
forest and then let the DCs of the remote sites connect to the main site via
RRAS-VPN... because, if the domain isn't able to communicate with the
forest, it can be impossible to fix such an RRAS router-to-router config ...
but if you have a hardware VPN, I don't see a problem for a 1 MBit line...

It can work fine with DSL - but I would suggest you put a local DC/DNS box
in there, in its own AD site & subnet, in case you weren't planning to do
that ;-)
