QUESTION ON WPA

I just upgraded my notebook XP system to SP2 and
installed the latest MS BroadBand Networking updates.
Everything still works but I would like to use WPA on my
home wireless network (uses MS 700 series basestation and
pcmcia cards). Does this latest version of BBN support
wpa (finally). I found out the hard way that earlier
versions did not and had to re-install the whole network.

Thx for any suggestions.

Uninstall the BNU as it does not & most likely will never support WPA.

Think about it Microsoft makes more money by making you purchase Windows
XP to get WPA support. Also I think it would be difficult to add it
since they have announced they are going to drop the entire networking
thing.

So you can either use WEP & MAC filtering together (There is a known
security flaw in the design of WEP), upgrade all the computers to
Windows XP SP2 & use WPA, or find a third party piece of software that
adds WPA support.

Don't bother with the BNU.

Just use Windows XP SP2's Wireless Networking setup. It's far superior to
BNU anyways.
