Please let me know if this is the wrong group for posting this
question.

With RIS can you push out software, and updates to machines? Or does
RIS only push out OS images?

Thank You

Eric

No RIS is only for deploying new machines with a pre established image
for software you could use scripts and group policy or go one better
and use SMS and for patches I would suggest WSUS

Thank you for your answers. What about using RIS with IntelliMirror?

Hi Eric,
I think the term Intellimirror is almost redundant now.
You use Group Policy Software Installation. Or else as Scooty said you use a
separate Software Distribution tool like SMS,

Say, one more question. With RIS, are you able to put other software
products on the image and just have an image with differnet software
on it? or does that have to be done useing something else as well?

You can add any software you want before you image it.
I think the best practice, however, is to have a clean base image, and
install applications separately
