Hello mosquito_hippy,
Without replication between the DC's your users will get problems when moving
to the new location. For example if they changed there password on the old
location it will not work anymore on the new one. Also if you have to create
new objects on the old location it's the same.
Additional the new DC has to be DNS server and should also be Global catalog
server.
So better create a VPN connection between the offices to replicate the DC's
for that short time.
