question about changing ISP

I'm coming up to the end of my 12 month BT broadband contract, and I'm
thinking of switching, just to save money. I think £28 is a bit steep
for a no-frills broadband account. Given that I've had no problems with
my adsl service, I obviously don't want to rock the boat unnecessarily.
However, given the way that adsl works, am I right in assuming that I
could reasonably expect the same adsl service, regardless of who I sign
up with?

David

You can reasonably expect the same level of service, but whether you get it
or not is another matter. Plus net are getting good reviews at the moment
but I cannot recommend them personally as I dont use them for broadband.

Check out www.adslguide.org for info; you can compare and rate ISP's
I'm with Plusnet no really major trouble except filters, their Customer
Support
via Telephone and Contact Us is great and the latter is online and use their
backup support number for 56k to get online temporarily, If you are a home
user
and dont need P2P or download any programs and music they do a £18.99
or full spec one for £21.99 great value for money and will also do your
migration
from one ISP to them.

There is plenty of choice now and some good prices!

Good luck, whichever you choose. I have contacts with Eclipse, Zen,
FreeUK, Demon, AOL, BT Openworld and MetroNet, and no-one is moaning
like hell about their service. Just remembered someone on Pipex, who
wasn't quite so positive about his experience to date... One guy on
BT Openworld was thinking of switching to Bulldog as his home link
seems sluggish (an early engineer install) than his office link,
also on BTO.

Most use routers and I'd recommend one any day of the week. Peter.
