Question for Carey Holzman and all....

I've been trying for a couple of weeks all the suggestions I've seen
here and on MSKB with no luck. I cannot get this computer set up to
see my other computer on a two system Win98 network. Both systems see
my Linksys router and access the internet fine through a cable modem.

Carey, With your Tip#1, I've gotten as far as step 12. When rebooting
and trying to select the sources I want to share, the option to share
is not there. A couple other 'symptoms' are as follows:

If I right click on Network Neighborhood and choose 'Explore', the
network window opens, but fail to show anything beyond the 'Entire
Network' icon. Secondly, if I right click on Network Neighborhood and
choose 'Open', I get the message 'This file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action....

I reinstalled Windows on another partition on this computer, and it
sees the network just fine. Same hardware. I really don't want to have
to try to rebuild the system from scratch. There's gotta be a setting
somewhere that can fix me up, but I haven't seen the solution in here
or on MSKB in the two weeks I've been fussing with this.

There is a tip for fixing the sharing problem at
www.careyholzman.co/netfixes.htm

Please follow the tips to the letter.

Thanks,
