Hi,

Under my network places -> Microsoft Network on my XP machine, I saw another
workgroup in it. When I click into it I found a computer there. When I ping
the computer name and I found out the IP is assigned from my router.

Does it mean that machine is share my brandwidth through my wireless AP?
once I unplug the AP then that PC is disappear and timeout.

Why that PC using my AP instead of his own? Can I stop this?

Thanks!

If you are not using encryption on your AP, certainly anyone within
range of its signal can connect to your lan.

If you want to stop it, set up encryption.

also apply the MAC filter
i.e. just put in your own and anything else you use
