pure load balancer

Does anybody user the "pure load balancer" software for
apache-loadbalancing? (http://plb.sunsite.dk/)
I'm asking because it seems that the software hasn't been changed since
2003. But I think it could be an interesting alternative for LVS, isn't it?

Maybe have a look at Pound aswell/instead:
http://www.apsis.ch/pound/

(That can also be used as HTTPS frontent (i.e.: offloading SSL handling.)
