Hello all,

I just deleted my Office 2003 Pro. I have a PST file but my windows
Vista Mail won't recognize it. I no longer have an outlook that will
see the PST file properly, gives me either a mapi error or "This
version of outlook cannot utilize this version, see your network
Admin" or something like that.

I got the Outlook toolbox to try and fix it but to no avail.

My old machine was XP Pro SP 2. I upgraded to Windows Vista.

Mike

You mean you _downgraded_ to Vista.

Good luck, you'll need it.

And this has *what* to do with Linux?

How sad!

You might try copying it off on a Windoze box and seeing if you can get
any contents back using M$ Access (Outlaw mail boxes are a bastardised
form of M$ Access tables - Hmmmm, figures)

I suspect this has **** all to do with Linux, but we may possibly have a
convert here when we tell him that Thunderbird e-mail client stores
e-mails (as it should) in a file that is readable with any old text
editing software. I use Kate in Linux and Textpad in Windoze - both
allow me to see the raw downloaded POP3 mail. If there are attachments,
then just hook them out and unencode them (but beware!!).
