Something happened on the server and now the clients have to put in the
proxy name of the server to see the internet pages. I don't know what made
the change, maybe a setting on ISA or the new service packs, but I also
don't know why does someone have to be a web proxy client in order to se the
www.

How do I change it back?

Thank you!

There is no way to know you ever had it configured correctly in the first
place. I need more details other than "it used to work, now it doesn't".

The second question you had,

Q. "Why web proxy?".

A. If anonymous access is not allowed, and the Firewall Client is not
installed on the user's machine,...then the Web Proxy Service is the only
way out and the user requires "proxy settings" in the browser.

What is anonymous access? If it's putting "All users" as a condition in the
access rules, then I do allowe anonymous access. And it still only works
only if you define the proxy server :-/

Yes, "All Users" is anonymous. I don't know what to suggest then.

Only if they tell you that it also has to do a Site-to-Site IPSec VPN with a
Linux box. That's when you know that life is over.

You could call MS Support. If the problem is caused by a patch or SP they
typically refund the charge. If not it is about $245, but it only hurts
once, and after that you will understand what happened and can deal with it
on your own next time. I may be an MVP, but I have called them many times.

This is the behavior of the HTTP Redirector in ISA 2000 a component that is
not supported anymore in ISA 2004. I have searched for something that can
create the same symptom in ISA 2004 and found something here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...a2kexport.mspx
Check the HTTP Redirector section. It could happen that you have some rule
that is blocking TCP port 80 and the only way out is through web proxy.

If this is not working you can try a different approach
