I have a Windows XP Pro SP2 desktop that has version 5.1.2600.2180 of
the RDC (mstsc.exe) file. I am attempting to print to my local USB
printer (HP Laserjet 1320) during a TS session to a Windows 2003
Server. I have read the following statement in many posts:

"Your RDC client may need to be upgraded. Upgrade to version 5.2.3790
and it should work."

How do I get version 5.2.3790. If it is on a Windows 2003 disk, what is
the file name-the same mstsc.exe and how is it installed? I have read
that installing this on XP Desktop gives error concerning that the OS
already has this version built-in.

Confused..Please advise..thanks

I assume this gets installed on the XP desktop?? I read that this
generates an error message concerning "OS already contains built-in
version"

Also, how is Remote Web Connection different from Remote Desktop
Connection? Why is not included in XP Pro already?

Thanks

I haven't see this error before. It should work in XP.

Remote Web Connection used IE to access the remote desktop instead of RDC software.

Bob's answer should help. It's just a different way to connect. By default
it is not part of XP Pro.
