About OUs? If you mean why create them (it's easy to just "create" an OU)
and how it affects your organization, that falls under the category of AD
Design. Here's a read on Design and Operations:
Active Directory Operations Guide:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...1/default.mspx
Best Practice Active Directory Design for Managing Windows Networks [and
DNS]:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../bpaddsgn.mspx
Chapter 4 - Active Directory Design:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d.../c04names.mspx
Chapter 9 - Designing the Active Directory Structure:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...3/chapt-9.mspx
Deploying and Designing Active Directory [DNS Design, Migration, Cert Auth,
Branch Offices, Exchange, ADC, Import-Export, etc]:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro...y/default.mspx
Deployment Planning Guide:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...pg/default.asp
With all due respect, if I may suggest taking an Active Directory course
that covers all of this in *great* detail with hands on labs. Courses such
as:
Microsoft Official Curriculum #2154: Implementing and Supporting AD in Win
2000
Microsoft Official Curriculum #2279: Implementing and Supporting AD in Win
2003
Hope that helps
