/proc/net/wireless empty, but SSID found by iwconfig

iwconfig prints out my access point with my unique name. So I know
its found the access point because I never entered in the name.

However /proc/net/wireless is empty

My wireless access point says I'm connected.

I've assigned an IP address "ifconfig wlan0 192.168.0.195"

However I can't ping/reach my access point (192.168.0.1). My routing
table says I have a route:

192.168.0.0 255.255.255.255 wlan0

Any ideas?

This is a Belkin 802.11b PCI card. Probably a harboring of bad things
to come when I had to manually hack the PCI bus address into the
device driver source code...

You're using the linux-wlan-ng drivers. Last time I looked, they didn't
support the Linux Wireless Extentions /proc/net/wireless entry.
Check with the website/documentation.
