Problems with wireless connection on Belkin Wireless Router

This has been working faultlessly for over 18 months with a Solwise ADSL
router... until today!!

I can connect via CAT5 without problem - get into console, surf etc.

Wireless PCs can see the wireless network, named WLAN in this case - WinXP
tells me there is a wireless network available. When I try to connect to it
nothing happens. I've tried changing the name and the PCs pick the change
up. Same happens if I change the channel. I've reset the router several
times, even restored it to factory settings. Still no joy.

There's no encryption running.

To give an overview, ADSL flows into the Solwise router and out via a
crossover Cat5 to one of the Belkin's 3 standard RJ45 ports. If I connect a
standard Cat5 to another of the RJ45s I can do everything without problem.
So it's just the wireless portion that's causing problems.

Any ideas? I'm going spare here as I've had to run CAT5 everywhere for the
time being :-|

I had the exact same problem once with a linksys router. Turned out tha
I had installed some security software from grc.com and didn'
understand fully what I was doing. It turned off network services on m
XP machine that even after turning on manually, would not function. I
the end I formatted. Mildly painfull but much quicker. For the record
I spent about 3 weeks trying to fix it, hundreds of various solution
attempted, even brought in a proffesional IT guy. He spent 4 hour
trying and in the end gave up, charging me nothing because he couldn'
fix it.

Wish I had a better answer for you :
