First, I'd remove all the network protocols except TCP/IP unless you really
need NetBEUI and IPX/SPX. If for some reason you do need them, remove them
temporarily for troubleshooting purposes and put them back when done.
Second, how sure are you that your physical network is all working
correctly? Intermittent problems are almost always hardware problems, not
software problems.
