problems w/connection

I am running Wind98SE with IE6.0. I am connected to a
network that connects to the internet via DSL. I can see
my other systems but I can't access the internet from one
of my computers. This computer can ping any website via a
cmd prompt and get reply's but when I open IE it says that
this can't be displayed. I even try to use Norton's
antivirus update and it can't see the internet.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this problem!
