When trying to establish the VPN connection with my company server I'm
unsuccessful (error 800) till I untick the "require data encryption
(disconnect if none)" check box under Security tab. I wouldn't like
data to be send in unencrypted form so could someone tell me how to
fix it? thanks

Could that be caused by client's router NAT settings?

Error 800 is a general message which just tells you the connection
failed. What sort of VPN is it? To get a more specific error set the client
to use a particular type rather than using the Automatic setting.

Thanks for the reply but I'm not quite sure what have you got on your
mind
asking about the type of VPN. Could you please be more specific?

Is it PPTP, L2tp or whatever? In the VPN client connection properties
there is a dropdown list. By default it is set to Automatic.
