Hi,
I'm having a few problems. I have a home network where two computers
connect to a domain through wireless connections. The desktop that i
use (custom built) does not have any problems connecting to the domain.
However, after what appears to be a random amount of time, the
computer "sort-of" locks up. What happens is the network drives become
disconnected. When i try and open up "My Computer" or something
anything that points to a mapped drive (ie..a shortcut), explorer locks
up. Killing the task works, but if i try the action again, the problem
occurs again.

I am having a similar problem with a laptop. It periodically
disconnects from the shared drives, but if i simply single click on the
connection through my computer, the connection is restored.

Is there anyway to prevent the computers from disconnecting?

I also have a problem with the network connection status. It will only
display as Acquiring Network Address in the taskbar even after it has
actually connected. I have to open up the network connection folder
and refresh. The icon will then display as connected. This is more an
annoyance than anything else.

Thanks in advance

Event logs show any errors?

You might check the autodisconnect settings -
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314498/

Do you have the same problem using a wired Ethernet connection to the same
hardware?
Are you using Windows to manage the wireless connection, or third party
software?
