i'm using the smc7404 barricade adsl modem/router/switch/wireless product
to connect several computers to the internet.
This works fine, both direct connections as wireless (pc-card and
usb-dongle)
work perfectly. There is one _problem_ remaining, and that is the sharing of
files between the several computers.
Formerly I used a simple hub to connect the computers and one of the machine
had an ISDN card to connect to the internet, serving the others through ICS,
internet connection sharing.
This worked fine, but now I replaced the hub by the internal switch of the
Barricade and they (and I) cannot find each other.
Did I overlook some default setting in the Barricade or is it a network
setting on each computer. They are all (Win98 and XP) configured as
'LAN' and 'obtain TCP/IP address automatically' and indeed they all
get the proper IP address from the Barricade.
