DNS and routing are two totally different things, unless you've setup
multiple addresses for that hostname, (and you haven't I checked) then DNS
records won't affect the route your packets take.
It does seem odd though I grant you. My trace ran thru Level3's London
network then onto their East Coast (US) net before going onto Teleglobe and
being bounced back across to London.
Who administers or allocated you that IP address ? I'm guessing that address
was once part of a block allocated to an Eastern US location, maybe by
Teleglobe. It's either been released for use over here or internally
reallocated by Teleglobe and someone's forgot to update their records by the
looks of things.
