Hi all,

I have two problems with my settings that I get figure out. I am two
systems connected to the Internet via a DI-524 (wireless router). One is
a Linux SuSE 10 connected with through an Ehternet port (it sits just
besides the Linux box). The other is a W2K SP4 connected via Wi-Fi. I
also have a PS121 (print server from Netgear) connected to the router.
My first and major issue is that I can't print from my SuSE box. I have
tried everything I could think of (even googling on the Internet did not
help). I either hangs for ever or aborts right away. But if I connect
to the print server and print a test page, it works. The printer is an
MFP from Epson (CX6600).
My second issue deals with the W2K box. I used to be able to connect to
the Internet, but now for some unkown reason I can't anymore. It talks to
the router but I can't even connect to it. The little icon in the task
bar alsways says: Network Cable is unplugged (even though it connects
wirelessly).
If anyone has an idea, i would greatly appreciate.

Thanks to all

How is the TCP/IP interface of your printer configured? Looking at the
PS121 spec, it can use either LPD or SMB protocol. It will be easier for
you to use LPD protocol and you will have an LPD queue name. You plug
them into CUPS on your SuSE box and it should just work.

Check that your settings are the same each end, particularly with
respect to encryption (i.e. both ends use WPA or bot use WEP and that
the keys are the same).

I think the problem on my W2K machine is that the system thinks it deals
with an 802.3 interface when it should be 802.11b or g (that is what I get
when I looked in the Administrative Tasks in W2K: it keeps on mentioning
802.3).

Ah! well, 802.3 is good old ethernet. So go and disable your ethernet
interface in your network settings.
