I have an MN730 wireless G PCI cards and the Wireless G
base station.

I hooked up the base station to computer 1 with a cable
modem and that computer works fine.

I hooked up computer 2 and installed the MN730 card and
the computer connects and works fine.

I hooked up the 2nd MN730 PCI card to the 3rd computer
and it sees the network but it won't connect. It keeps
coming back and telling me the WEP is invalid. The green
light on the card flashes on and off while the other one
on the 2nd computer stays solid. I am using the same wep
number to input but it just keeps giving me the same
error message about the wep being invalid.

I've tried putting the PCI card in another slot
I've tried uninstalling the software and then removing
the device from device manager, in both normal and safe
mode with networking. I then removed the card then booted
back up installed the software again and then shut down
and put the card back in and booted up and tried again
but I always seem to get the same stupid invalid wep
error.

It's strange it works fine with the base and the second
computer but this 3rd computer seems to be a no go.

Oh I'm using widows Xp in all the computers.

ANY IDEAS ??????

Thanks

Exactly the same issue I'm having. (Have a similar post
opened). Not sure what your pc's are but a friend had a
similar experience and the problem pc was a new Dell.
(That is my situation as well). He said that the IRQ's
for the PCI slot were causing problems with the wireless
card. He put in a USB wireless and had no issues.
Haven't had time to test this but it may work. Is your
failing PC a newer Dell?

Go to the Command Prompt (not Start/Run) and type in "ipconfig" without the
quotes. If it returns a proper IP for the machine within your LAN
distribution, you're okay on that account. If not, use the "ipconfig
/release" followed by "ipconfig /renew" commands to urge it to pick up the
proper DHCP settings.

You may also want to look in Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet
Options/Connections and make sure there's no listing for a dial-up account
or proxy settings, especially on the LAN button.

No the system in question is a home built with an

AMD 2500+
Asus A7n8x - x
1x512 megs pc3200
NVIDIA 5200
MS wired mouse and keyboard.
etc.

I've disabled all the serial ports and com ports and the onboard LAN in the
bios. The only thing left on was the onboard sound.

As mentioned in my first post I have tried the card in PCI slot 5 and 6 with
the same message each time.

Strange it works with one computer but hook up a second and you end up with
this problem. Hope I can figure it out or all of it is going back and I'll
try Linksys.

I had the same problem. Try changing the strength of
your encryption or the type of it. I lowered my
encryption to the lowest level and then it worked.

PS Please send me the mn-730 drivers if you would. I
can't find my CD.

Nevermind about the drivers. I found them. Hope that
fix works for you.
