Hello,

Installed an Asound NIC (dual-speed 10/100Mbps faster ethernet PCI
adapter) with Myson MTD803F chip in a buddy's pc that had Redhat Linux 9.0
on it. I was able to connect to my broadband internet connection via the
card with no problems. He wanted Windows 98 on the machine so I installed
it (uninstalled Linux and reformatted hard drive before installing Windows).

Now I can't access the internet via this card. The computer ties up
with no response at all. I have managed to load one web page (Google), but
when I try to go to another (Windows Update) the machine completely freezes.
Accessing the internet via dial up works fine. So apparantly there is some
hardware/driver conflict under Windows 98 with this network card? Any help
with this issue is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Brian

Try a different network adapter. They are very cheap!

Yeh, I probably will (you usually get what you pay for, and this one was
only $8), but was just curious what the problem might be. Thanks anyways!
