I have just bought a D-link DWL900AP+ to go with a D-link DWL-614+ and
to act as a repeater. I have a strange problem (both boxes have the
latest firmware):

* I have set the SSID and the WEP settings on the 900AP to be the same
as the 614+

* I have set the MAC address of the repeater mode to be the LAN mac of
the 614. (I would have thought it would need to be the MAC of the
WIRELESS interface of the 614+?)

* I can see the 900AP connection from my card (DWL 520+) when the AP
is set to "access point" mode, no problem.

* As soon as I set the 900AP to repeater mode, I suddenly cannot see
the original network connection I want to repeat or the 900AP
connection. Nothing. As soon as I turn off the 900AP or set it back to
"access point" mode, all the connections reappear.

This is very strange - any ideas?

Do the SITE SURVEY in the 900AP+, it will automatically select the correct
MAC to repeat... All you'll need to do is enter the correct WEP codes...
It matters not what the SSID/Channel # is, as that is all automatic to a
900AP+ in repeat mode. It does matter what antenna is being used, so make
sure you're using the external one for longer range...

If need be, turn off WEP until you get everything sorted out and working,
then activate it...

The problem was that nothing appeared in the Site Survey ... I
downgraded to firmware 3.05 and suddenly, it all worked ... looks like
firmware 3.06 is broken for the DWL 900AP+
