I have a machine running windows XP SP2 with a RTL8180 based WiFi card in it.
It connects to a DrayTek Vigor 2500WE Wireless/DSL Router over 802.11b WiFi.

Normally I get good connection (even though I am down the other end of the
house).
But sometimes it just drops out (it may then reconnect, sometimes wiggling
the antenna on back of the card will make it reconnect)

Is there something I can do that will prevent or reduce these dropouts?
I am in Australia if that makes any difference.

are there any other devices such as a corless phone that is also using
the 2.4Ghz range. If so try changing the channel used on your wireless
AP so that it different than the other device.

Excellent http://www.wwc.edu/~frohro/Airport/P...Primestar.html
project and heaps of these dishes on roofs all over Australia. Some
obviously aren't being used so just ask around. People renting accommodation
actually phone the real estate office managing the property and complain
about having to suffer a dish when they hate TV.
