I've recently installed server 2003 on a Dell Inspiron 8200 with a
TrueMobile 1180 mini-PCI card. Windows recognizes that the adapter is
present, however, it shows up as a plain adapter instead of a wireless
adapter. I can see wireless networks with the netstumbler utility, but when
I try to connect I am unable since the management software that came with
the driver says that windows is managing the card. Is there any way to
either a) get windows to recognize that this is a wireless adapter so I can
configure through network proprties or b) get windows to stop managing the
card so that I can configure with the vendor's software.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Forrest

Contact the manufacturer for Windows Server 2003 drivers/support. Most
wireless cards aren't supported by the manufacturer in 2003, and there
really isn't much anyone (except the manufacturer) can do if there aren't
any drivers for it
