I am new to Linux, but I am very impressed by all that I have read about it
and what I have seen thus far.
I have a small home network consisting of 3 WinXP boxes (2 are XP Home and 1
is XP Pro). I have just setup a Linux box and I'm having trouble accessing
the shared folders on my Windows boxes (SharedDocs folders - no password).
Linux is Mandrake 10 Download.
Using Smb4K - SMB Share Browser.
When I open Smb4K it scans the network and will see only 1 of the 3 Win
boxes. I can selectively shutdown the Win boxes and it will see each of
them separately - but only sees one when multiple machines are up and
running.
My network consists of a Linksys router and a DSL modem. All PC's are on
twisted pair. The Win boxes have no problems communicating and
transferring files, web browsing, etc. I have disabled the firewalls on
each of the Win boxes.
I would also like to setup shared folders on my Linux box for access by the
Win boxes.
Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated!
