Hope someone can help or at least point me to the correct group.

I installed the FREE version of AVG Antivirus V6 onto my new machine
(windowsXP)

When I try to un-install it I get the following error message:-

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.
The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and microsoft applications.
Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

Any ideas how I might un-install this program ?
TIA

There's a lot of info found when you Google for

AVG uninstall C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT

I'd point you to a site, but it seems it's quite a well known issue, so
do a Google and take your pick of the fixes.

Why would you want to uninstall it ? it is a lot better than anything
else around -- I spent the week end uninstalling the latest version
Norton for a mate then using AVG to clear 4 different viri/trojans/worms
Norton missed (before somebody pipes in yes Norton had been kept up to
date) AND the resident AntiVir Guard unlike another well known product
dosen't slow some systems to a crawl.

Anything? NOD32, KAV?

It's free, it's about OK, that is it.
