Problem with Remote Desktop on WinXp to Win2003

Hello,

I've set up a win2003 server with the role of Terminal Server and am trying
to connect to it via my WinXP box using Remote Desktop Connection.

The problem is that the connection never stays active. I'll log in, it'll
let me in as expected but then it'll immediately go into log off mode and
log me out.

I am stumped as to why it is doing this. Any advice?

Thanks,

Jon

Presuming you're using application mode on TS, do you have a TS license
server set up, with valid licenses?

Yes, I do have a TS license server setup, with valid licenses. At least, I
believe I do.

Under the Manage Your Server, Terminal Server section it states: A Terminal
Server License Server has been found on the network.

Under Terminal Server Licensing it has 3 lines:

Existing Windows 2000 Server - Terminal Services CAL Token (per device) of
which there are Unlimited available and 0 issued
Temporary Licenses for Windows Server 2003 - Terminal Server Per Device CAL
Token of which there are 0 availabe and 1 issued (to the PC that's trying to
connect)
Windows Server 2003 - Terminal Server Per User CAL Token of which there are
5 available and 0 issued -- This is the license pack I got and I'm not sure
why it issued a temporary one?

Is that the problem?

As a side note, I am still having this issue but some more information that
may help.

The log in immediately followed by a forced log out behaviour is also
exhibited if I connect to 127.0.0.1 from the machine I'm trying to get to.

I wonder if it's related to the fact that the server doesn't seem to be
issueing licenses from the 5 permanent user licenses I have available but
from the Temporary licenses?
