Problem with PCs Losing Internet Connection But Have Access To LAN

We have a Win2003 Standard Server which is running AD, DNS, DHCP, RRAS. We
have about 50 WinXP/Vista PCs that sometimes lose Internet connection. They
are able to browse the network just fine, they are able to hit the server
without a problem, but they just can't access the Internet.

If we remove the PC from DHCP and provide them a static IP, everything seems
to start working. After a while(1 day, 1 week, or more) the computer will
have the same sympton again. Switching the PC back to DHCP fixes the
problem for a while.

We are seeing this problem slowly spreading to more PCs. We can't see to
pin point where the problem is or why this is happening.

Any advice?

Does your Firewall have limits on the number of users or devices that can be
used from behind it? I've seen one office that has a Watchgaurd Firewall
with a 15 user limit. They only have 11 machine, but after some outside
machines were started up the LAN the firewall "remembered" the MAC addresses
and would not allow a new replcement machine to be added on the LAN. Power
cycling the firewall "cleared it" and everything was fine.

We don't have a limitation on the firewall. This was one of the reasons
that we went with the firewall that we have.

We think that its a problem with our Win2003 server. We use it like a proxy
server but not really. It has 2 nic cards (LAN/WAN).

Why would you create a duel-nic server running NAT if you already have a
firewall? It seems pointless.
