Hello,

I have a home LAN configured using Netgear Router and Netgear
Powerline converter XE602. The network is working fine. I, then
decided to make the network available using wireless access point
provided by Siemens Speedstream SS2521 and here my problems begin.

The Netgear Router assigns IP addresses in the range of 192.168.0.x
and for some strange reason when I check the SpeedStream device using
their software it seems to pick up the IP address 168.129.177.x Also
my laptop which has the Wireless PCMCIA card installed is unable to
communicate with the DHCP server nor is it able to find a Gateway
server.

I would assume that since the Access point is a client on the Netgear
powerline network, it would pick up the same IP address but it doesnt.
Can anyone help me?

The 168.x.x.x address is a default address for any device unable to
get a true or NAT'd IP address. It sounds like the SpeedStream is not
recognizing DHCP or the DHCP manager is not recognizing your device.
Have you writting to SIEMENS about this and if so just out of
curiousity - what was their answer? I have a similar install that is
going to take place with the SIEMENS equipment here soon so I would
love to know.
