Hi,

I have a small home network with about 5pcs (Win2K / Win98) on it. All
connected to the interent through a Linksys Router (BEFSRU31) and an NTL
cable modem.

Recently I have been unable to post data of any reasonable size to web sites
through HTTP forms from any computer on my Network. Eg I can post simply
login credentials or a short paragraph to a site and it works, However If I
post a lot of text eg 1 A4 page length or a 2Kb file. It falls over and I
get a Cannot Find Server Error. I have tried on a number of sites and eg
Hotmail and none seem to work.

The problem does not occur when I connect to the Interenet through a dialup
modem. Nor does occur when I post data to websites running locally on the
network.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Simon.

ntl's transparent http proxies are notoriously good at screwing up - I
wonder if that could be your problem? Find an open proxy that doesn't
run on port 80 and set that in your preferences, then try again.

Thanks - I'll try that out.
