Problem generating a TCP/IP connection with wireless card

I recently purchased a d-link wireless card (dwl-650), and
a tcp/ip connection was not generated during the
installation process. I spoke with d-link to try and
remedy the issue, ran some diagnostics, and learned that
it is not a problem with the installation or card. They
suggested it was likely a microsoft-related problem.

To be sure, at one point, I had a cisco card that worked
just fine. I refuse to pay microsoft $35 (more than the
cost of the card itself) to fix the problem.

Any advice (other than just spend the $100+ on another
cisco card)? ; )

Thanks,
Lisa
