problem with gaim

Hello friends;
In our collage we have squid proxy server. My friends
(working with windows) can chat with yahoo massanger without any
problem but i am unable to use gaim becouse of following :

Access denide: proxy server forbids port 5050 tunnelling.

If any one knows how i can start gaim than please provide solution with
details.
