Problem with drive visibility across network.

I have a small network (two PCs) running XP Home and connected through a
router. Computer B has a dual boot system, the other OS being Windows
Me. I recently had a problem with one of the two physical disks on B and
replaced it. The backup (Ghost) failed to restore the drive with XP on
it but restored all the other drives fine. I went with a new XP
installation and re-associated the necessary programs.

Now to the problem.

Computer B can see A perfectly. All drives are accessible. However, A
can only see 3 of the 6 drives on B.

Initially, B could not see any of its own drives in the network (A could
not see any of B either). Mshome only showed A's drives. I installed
NetBEUI and B could then see all of its networked drives correctly.
However, when mapping B's drives from A, 3 drives were not displaying
normally (the other three did and worked as expected). When selecting
them within the "Map Network Drive" window, the drive showed but not the
folders in it. They appeared to be mapped but, when an attempt to access
them is made, an error message "An error occurred while reconnecting
xxxxxxxxx Microsoft Windows Network. The local device name is already in
use"

The problem drives have their share permissions set. Looking at the
properties of two adjacent drives (E & F), they seem identical, yet F
works but E doesn't.

Has anyone any ideas, please?

In case anyone else ever has this problem, I have, at long last, solved
it. It appears to have been the network card in computer A. A new card
and all drives are magically accessible in both directions. Very strange.
