Problem connect Remote destop

I used to connect remote desktop connection under windows
ME or 2000 operating system. After I connected with my new
laptop (windows XP home edition), I could not connect
anymore with ME or window 2000. Does anyone know why or
how to fix this problem.

Whilst this is a question probably best asked in a group supporting XP two
possibilities come to mind, especially given the words "new laptop".
First have you enabled access to the Remote Desktop on the laptop? System
Properties | Remote and check the box "Allow user to connect remotely ...."
Secondly have you enabled port 3389 on any firewalls that you hopefully have
enabled, at least on the laptop?
