problem cascading linksys switch and mn-500 base station

I have a 5 port 10/100 linksys switch and an mn-500
wireless base station. Each works just fine all by
itself, but when I connect the linksys uplink port to a
port on the mn-500, devices on the linksys switch can't
talk with the mn-500 and vice versa. As near as I can
tell, its some sort of routing problem between the
switches, but I can't come up with a solution.

Devices on the linksys can use dhcp and pick up an
address from the mn-500 just fine, but they still can't
hit any of the other computers and most often the
internet connection doesn't work either (though they have
an address).

Any ideas?

Ironically enough, If I switch out one of the network
cards for a previously unused one, and put it on the
linksys, its able to talk to everyone everywhere. The
others though still don't talk across the two.

It would seem then that one of the two boxes has a really
long memory about which MAC's are on which port and are
misrouting the traffic. (I'm out of my league here, so I
might be wrong). Is there a way to make the devices
forget what they know and figure it out again? (feel
free to email suggestions).

I believe you would need a crossover cable to use the uplink on the Linksys,
and you can't use uplink and port 1 at the same time.

How does it work if you connect the linksys from port 1 into one of the lan
ports on the MN-500?

I had a similar problem I reset the linksys and the mymn
700 then set the linksys as the dhcp server and the mn
700 as an access point and all 3 wired and all 3 wireless
computers could talk
