Hi

I've just installed a netgear 11g access point (conected to cable
modem) and 11g card added to pc. Everything is working fine between
card and access point. Packets sent and received no problem. I've
asked Blueyonder to add the MAC addy for the access point.

Still no joy with getting back online. Its been about 20hrs since
they added the MAC and they claim in can take 24hrs. Is there
anything obvious that i may have missed?

Add it via self-care. It's instant.

You shouldn't need to add the MAC address of the router. The cable modem
MAC address should be sufficient, once that is registered you should be able
to plug whatever you like into the cable modem and hook it up to t'internet.

I have a Netgear WRG614 Wireless router plugged into a Motoral Surfboard
Cable Modem on Telewest Broadband which works a treat.

Basically, plug in your PC/Laptop to the cable modem and make sure you can
get an internet connection out. Once that has been established you need to
plug in your Wireless Access Point and configure it. I used the Netgear
Configuration wizard on my WRG614 which worked out all of the settings
automatically.

Once the Access Point is up and running you need to configure Wireless
Security, I switched on 128bit encryption and made sure all wireless clients
were configured with the same.
