I have 2 nic cards in a server 2K3. I cannot get both nic cards to work
simultaneously. When I disable one nic card the second card works properly.
However when I enable both cards, one card can only communicate on lhe local
subnet. Traffic for outside times out. As soon as I disable the other nic
card....Bing! it works.

Hello MH,

Is the server Domain controller? Then it is recommended to not multihome
it. What functions/roles does the server have? Please post also an unedited
ipconfig /all.

Best regards

Are you trying to run both on the same subnet, such as in a fault tolerant
and load balancing mode? If so, and this is a server, such as a Dell, HP,
etc, and they are identical brand NICs that can handle teaming, download the
respective drivers from either the server manufacturer, or the NIC
manufacturer. Once downloaded and installed, go into the software and create
a NIC team choosing both NICs. Once you've done that, they act as one. There
is no other way to make them work together without the proper respective
software.

Hi

Make sure that you don't have natting turned on in the routing rules. I did
this once and I spent hours trying to work it out
