Printserver problem

I have a printserver, running 2k3. The problem I have is that it
cannot be assigned addresses to it. Whatever address assigned to it,
it gives invalid address message and won't accept it. All the clients
can print directly to the printer, but the printserver does not work.
All the clients can ping each other and the server and vice versa.
Would appreciate any help with this problem.

Hi - what do you mean by "it cannot be assigned addresses to it" ? A
Windows print server has locally configured ports (e.g., Standard TCP/IP
port) which have the IP addresses of the physical print server devices on
your network. The server itself has a static IP. Perhaps it'd help us help
you if you provided more detail, exact setup & exact errors you see.

Right now it does have a locally configured port with a private IP,
but when I try to change the private IP to match the new subnet of my
private IPs, it gives an invalid address message and refuses to accept
the new IP.

What do you mean? Are you talking about your printer ports or the server IP
itself?

Please explain the exact setup and the exact steps you are taking, as well
as your error messages, as requested.

I think this is covered by Lanwench's request for more information, but what
IP address and subnet are you trying to set?
