Printing problems on a wireless network

Our home network is set-up as follows:

PC o/s Win Me connected to the wireless ADSL router via a LAN card and
ethernet connection.

Printer is attached to the PC via USB port.

Laptop Win XP Home SP-2 is connected to PC & ADSL via wireless
adaptor.

All the required folders and printer are set for sharing and can be
seen on the laptop in network places.

The problem I have is that I cannot print documents from the laptop.

Would a wireless printer server help?

have you installed the relevant printer on the laptop via Add a
printer ? ie does it show up in your printers folder and can you see
the right printer properties if you try to access them. Does the file
spool and then sit on the other machine, or what happens ?

Hi Phil

The printer icon appears in the system tray on the pc, the carriage
moves across the printer as if it about to print, but no paper is
pulled through. The printer icon then goes from the bottom rh corner,
and no doc is printed.

I have loaded the drivers onto the laptop. I have found the printer
thru the network, but still cannot print!! BTW the printer is a
Lexmark P707.
