Hi, the following is our situation:

We provide services for people with disabilties. We have a main building and
9 group homes in the community. We are currently working in a workgroup
environment in the main building with a pc that holds all of our files. We
will soon be having a few people that have been working the main building
start working out in the community homes. These people will have a laptop
and will implement offline files. The group homes have DSL and we will put
in a wireless router at these homes as well so these people will be able to
access the internet. I will also want them to have the ability to print at
either location. At some point we will move to a Domain environment and
would also like to implement VPN's so these people will not have to use the
offline method. Right now we do not have the resources for this. Until then
though I need to know how I can give them the ability to print at either the
main building or at the homes.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

CEV

What your talking about here could become somewhat of an issue if you do not
have someone that knows how to setup this up. One solution would be to setup
router/firewalls at both ends of communication and setup VPN tunnels.
However, if you are doing this, that is going to cost you some time and
effort just to be able to print to another location. Until you move forward
with implementing the domain and moving torward a more orginized and sensible
environment, I would just email documents as needed. The workgroup setup
makes things a bit sketchy, however, it can be done.

Don't know if this helped, but hopefully is useful information to you.

Thanks, and good luck!
