Printers default to FQDN\Printer

Hi,

having problem with printers.

Earlier we had printers mapping thru logonscript with con2prt, like
this: con2prt /c
\\servername.topdom.subdom.company.net\printername Number.

We found out that some applications did not show the complete name of
the printers in their printdialogboxes, the last letters/numbers were
missing.

Now, we changed the logonscript to this:
con2prt /c \\servername\printernameNumber.

However, the users connections to the printers remain FQDN
'\\servername.topdom.subdom.company.net\printernam eNumber'

even if we delete the printers, both manually and under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers.

Question:

How do I change so that the users will have the short unc to server
instead of FQDN?

We're running Win2k3 Advanced TS in user mode, latest SP and patches.

Thanks in advance

S
