I have a Compaq IJ300 printer physically attached to my host machine, a
Win98SE Desktop and I want to share it with my wireless notebook running
WinXP Home. The machines are networked thru a wireless router which is
connected to the host machine via ethernet cable. I have a DSL modem
connected to the router also. The laptop can see the printer, the "address"
is: //desktop/printer (name"printer" is same on both computers) but it will
not print. I got it to print one time, but the type was fuzzy. And I don't
know what I did to get it to print that one time. Unfortunately, I can't
connect the printer directly to the laptop (to see if it will print that
way) because it only uses a parallel port which the laptop doesn't have. I
can share internet and other files fine. Any ideas? Thank you, Linda

Did you install the print drivers on the WinXP? Do you have File and
Printer sharing enabled on the Win98? If you don't have printer
drivers for the WinXP, it most likely won't be able to print unless
the printer is very vanilla. And did you use the WinXP printer
installation wizard?
