When we browse to find printers in the directory, two, at a remote location,
do not appear. even though they have the box checked "show printer in
directory".

Any ideas?

Thanks!

How do you browse for printers? If you're really browsing using AD users and
computers, make sure that "show user and computer objects as containers"
checkbox is selected in ADUC.

Oops. Substitute "find" for "browse".

When our clients computers use the "Find printers in the directory" option
when using the Add printer wizard, the only two printers at one of our
remote location do not show up when we click Find now, which should list
every printer on every server on any computer in my AD domain... right? I
mean the list shows about 30 printers distributed over the other four
locations, but not this location. This remote location print server is a
2000 member server (also doing local DHCP server and file share services)
and there are no DC's there. The DNS setup on the 2000 member server IP
config lists the two DC/DNS servers on the other side of the WAN, as typical
for other locations with same setup (no local DC's). I can't think of
anything else to add other than for other locations when we've chosen to
have the printers listed in the directory, the Find now option always fins
them.

Thanks.

Well, if only printers from a single print server are not published, there
might be a problem with the settings of that server. Check event logs for
anything suspicious related to printers. Try to publish a printer manually.
