Printer Problem

When I setup a printer using the print server on Server 2003 it'll print, but
when I try printing from it a few hours later it won't print anymore. The
printer shows up as online and ready, but the print jobs never make it to the
printer. All 3 printers that I have tried are network printers with IP
addresses that I add using a TCP/IP port. What could I be missing?

Can you still ping the printer?

If you are using the TCP/IP ports then done't use a printer Server to share the
printers. Using a Server to share the printers with what you do when you don't
use the TCP/IP port directly from the Client.

I have to make the print jobs go through the server because of some printer
management software I am going to use.

Then don't use the TCP/IP Ports from the Client. From the Client it should be
used as a "shared" printer,...shared by the Server.

That's what I'm doing, but it just stops working after a couple of hours. If
I try printing from the server (using the tcp/ip printer I set up and shared)
it won't, and the printer I've added on the client (using the share and not
tcp/ip) wont print either.

Is there any "Power saving" settings in the printer that you can disable ?
