I set up a wireless base station MN-500 on my desktop. It
is working properly. I have a laptop connected to it but
cannot add a network printer. The printer from the
desktop does not appear in the list to choose from. I
have checked and the printer is specified as shared and
is the default printer. The laptop is showing in the list
of network devices on the network utility. Should the
printer also how here? What as I missing here?

thanks

Go into Printers and Faxes, Add a printer, then A network printer, or a
printer attached to another computer. Browse for the printer on the next
screen so you're finding the connections.

It's when I browse for the printer that the printer does
not show up in the choice list.

Are you going into your LAN designation and the machine which is hosting the
printer? You may need to drill down a little bit.

Do you have File and Print Sharing turned on? What OS are you running? Are
the printers shared on the PC they are attached?

Yes I have File and Print Sharing turned on on the
desktop which is the base. I am running WinXP. I am
unable to add the printer to laptop so I can not turn on
sharing options.
